Chinese Gov’t Arrests Babies for “Defeatist” Melamine Intolerance

BEIJING – In the wake of the tainted-milk scandal which has killed five babies and sickened over 20,000, the Chinese government has stepped up its response, arresting over a dozen persons involved in the manufacturing, increasing testing of milk samples, and recalling over 100 consumer products. This week they widened the scope of their public-relations campaign by also arresting the 20,000 sick babies and their parents.

“These babies, who already enjoy the privileges of being the one child in their respective families, have shown a disappointing lack of national pride with their melamine intolerance,” said Sheng Hui, a spokesperson for the Chinese FDA. “Their swift and cowardly capitulation in the face of the melamine invader is reflective of a defeatist attitude and cannot be tolerated lest it degrade the security of the state.” As of press time, all babies released from hospital were taken directly to local prisons for re-education.

The parents of the sickened, unpatriotic children were detained for questioning and for knowingly passing on weak immune systems to the Chinese people.
