BANGKOK – After giving the ruling government coalition an “F” for their first year of managing the nation’s affairs, the opposition Democrat Party has awarded its own members with praise and accolades in the form of gold stars stuck on white paper.
During a special session called by the opposition, the Democratic whip took to the podium and announced that all Democrats had earned scores of “A+” from a special evaluating committee staffed by other Democrats.
“Everyone from our party has scored a perfect 100 in every aspect of everything,” MP Wirat Kallayasiri announced. “Hooray for us!”
He then handed out the gold stars to every party MP, along with a small plastic trophy that said “GOOD JOB” on it, and a cupcake with yellow frosting.
As part of the celebration, the Democrat Party members all wore new tailored suits with matching blue ties, and were cleanly shaven and/or manicured. All members then posed for a group photo that was then photoshopped professionally to make them look “their best and brightest” for future campaign use.
Their governing duties complete, all members then went home.
