BANGKOK – A foreign journalist has confided to Not The Nation editors that he still hates Thaksin Shinawatra.
The journalist said much of the foreign press has not been in Thailand long enough to understand the political changes that have occurred over the past few years.
“Most of the foreign press corps are idiots who don’t recognize the unique and special nature of Thailand,” said the journalist, who asked not to be named because he prefers writing anonymous letters to the editor in support of the coup group.
“I have been here more than 10 years and I truly understand the Thai people and how Thaksin was a grave threat to the country,” he said. “The foreign press should be ashamed for how they heap praise on Thaksin.”
Foreigners generally don’t understand Thailand, and believe coups are not the best way to change governments.
