SUPHAN BURI – In an urgent update from the government flood-control organization, it was announced that former PM and current head of the Chart Thai Pattana Party Banharn Silpa-acha was at “high risk of flooding” because of his low elevation.

All areas of central Thailand below 1.6 meters are considered in immediate danger from encroaching runoff from the north, coupled with existing floodwater on the ground. At 1.55 meters, Banharn has been tagged for immediate evacuation to higher ground.

A spokesperson for Chart Thai Pattana said that the veteran politician was aware of the danger and that he would find his own way to stay above floodwaters, including the possible use of a small stepladder or sitting on the shoulders of one of his secretaries.
