BANGKOK — Incarcerated Australian teacher and debut author Harry Nicolaides celebrated a publishing milestone yesterday from his group cell in Bangkok Remand Prison as his self-published novel Versimilitude sold its 50th and last available copy. The book, which until recently had sold just seven copies, has received a publicity boost from Nicolaides’ baffling arrest by Thai authorities on charges of lèse-majesté and from subsequent requests from interviewing reporters for copies. With the completion of his 43rd interview in the last three months, Nicolaides has managed to sell out his initial print run of 50. In addition to a second print run, the author says he’s considering producing a book-on-tape audio version, if someone would be kind enough to bring him a tape recorder.
