BANGKOK – In an action described as “protecting the youth of the Kingdom,” the Thai Film Board yesterday seized over 10,000 bootleg copies of the VCD “Natt Chanapa: The Lost Hardcore Scene”, and carefully blurred out a 15-second segment where one of the actors appears to smoke a cigarette.
Speaking at a news conference, Thai Film Board VP Prasit Damrongchai said, “Smoking is not permitted in Thai movies. We cannot allow our youth to be unduly influenced by images that they may try to imitate. Cigarettes are deadly.”
The scene in question involves Natt Chanapa, a Thai actress, removing her clothing in what appears to be a hotel room, fellating two men, and engaging in multiple-position intercourse with one of them who ejaculates onto her chest. Shortly afterwards, the actor lights up a cigarette in the background, the visibility of which is now blurred out by the Film Board’s editing.
The revised, smoke-free versions of the VCD are expected to be available on the streets of Bangkok by the weekend.
