BANGKOK – TRUEVisions, Thailand’s sole cable-TV operator, announced today the achievement of a major milestone in signing up its 10th subscriber for their top-level Platinum package.
The Platinum Package, which costs 2,000 baht per month, includes all the channels of the Gold Package plus ASN, which shows exclusively US-related sports, plus Nickelodeon, the E! Entertainment Network, and the MGM Movie Classics Channel.
“We’re pleased that our premium package has broken double-digit subscriber numbers,” said Suphachai Chearavanont, TRUEVisions president. “Clearly our platinum offerings of niche American sports, week-old Hollywood gossip, annoying puppets, and 60-year-old movies appeal to a wide range of Bangkok residents.”
The celebrated tenth subscriber was Dawson McElroy, a US expat from Atlanta, working in Bangkok for PTT. He said as much as he hated “paying that shit service sixty bucks a month,” that he simply couldn’t live without regular coverage of NASCAR.
