Sondhi Limthongkul, former head of the Yellow Shirt-aligned People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD), and Jatuporn Prompan, former chair of the Red Shirt-affiliated United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) have put aside their historical differences to form a group they call Guardians of the Land pledging to recruit one million members within three years, declaring that “the nation has deteriorated in every respect. The situation has moved beyond reform — it may require revolution and a complete purge” with the goal of driving Thaksin and his family members from power.
